The Computer Science and Engineering research at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) has achieved outstanding accomplishments in the following fields: artificial intelligence, machine learning, network communication and security, software engineering, data science and technology, computer vision & pattern-image recognition, and autonomous driving. The research teams have secured multiple joint projects with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST). Notably, the research project, “STEP Perpetual Learning based Collective Intelligence: Theories and Methodologies,” was funded as one of the inaugural batch of projects under the Funding Scheme for Key R&D Projects by the Science and Technology Development Fund of Macau SAR (FDCT). These research results have translated into numerous high-quality and influential publications in top international journals and top-tier conferences in related fields. Through Macao Institute for Smart City, Open Intelligent Electric Vehicle Research Center, Innovation Research Center for Medical Robotics, Data Science Research Center, Cyber Security Research Center, and the collaborations with industrial partners, the Computer Science and Engineering research accomplishments have found their way into products and services that significantly benefit the prosperity of the society and the economic development.
