Technology Research and Development Talent Funding Scheme (2026）-Enterprise R&D Talent Category and Postdoctoral Category

Dear leaders and colleagues:

Our office has received a notification from the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT). In alignment with the policy objectives of the Macao SAR Government and in accordance with the Macao Special Administrative Region Public Financial Subsidy System, the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund Charter, and the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund Subsidy Regulations, the FDCT has launched the Research and Development (R&D) Talent Subsidy Program (hereinafter referred to as the "Program").

I. Maximum Funding Amount

Postdoctoral Category: This category supports Macao residents in entering the research system of higher education institutions to carry out scientific research projects. The maximum funding amount for this category is MOP 720,000.

II. Funding Recipients

1. Public higher education institutions in the Macao Special Administrative Region.

2. Private higher education institutions lawfully established in the Macao Special Administrative Region.

III. Eligibility to Apply

1. For the Postdoctoral Category, applications shall be submitted by the higher education institution referred to in Article II, Items 1 and 2 that employs the postdoctoral fellow.

IV. Application Conditions

For the Postdoctoral Category, the relevant talent must meet the following conditions:

1. Hold a Macao Resident Identity Card.

2. Have obtained a doctoral degree within the last five years from a higher education institution recognized by Macao or the local government.

3. Possess academic research experience or achievement transformation experience in the field of science and technology.

4. As of the first day of the application period for this category, the relevant talent must have been employed by the higher education institution for no more than one year, or possess relevant documentation from the higher education institution proving that they will be employed within one year after funding approval.

V. Internal Application Period

From today until Ocotober 16, 2026.
